South West College Jobs – Placement Officer Childcare

Duties and Responsibilities

To assist, encourage, and track the job placement experience of Childcare Students on all South West College campuses.
To serve as a link between the childcare sector and the school to ensure the implementation of a shared childcare curriculum and provision.

Engage with work-related providers, sourcing, securing, and arranging suitable and valuable work placements for students, and building and strengthening relationships with work-related providers about current and future placement opportunities.

To ensure that all required compliance documentation, including Access NI Enhanced disclosure tests, is completed on time and to the relevant level.

Conduct and track evaluations and assessments of job placement providers and settings in order to ensure compliance with applicable health and safety, benefits, disability access, safeguarding, equality, and other laws (including Access NI).

Qualifications / Experience:

• A Level 4 or higher qualification in child care.
• Grades A-C or equivalent in GCSE English and Maths.
• For the purposes of training, development, or education, at least one year of experience working in a childcare-related setting is required.
• Assessors Awards A1 or D32/33 with the capability to demonstrate occupational competence in the area of responsibility, or willingness and agreement to obtain such awards within 12 months of starting employment.

An Information Technology qualification at Level 2 OR recent paid working knowledge of a range of IT applications within a business environment for a minimum of 1 year.
